Rotterdam is a city of sports. Rotterdam and its population love to play and practice sports. Every year the city hosts world-class sporting events such as the ATP-ranked ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament, World Port Tournament (baseball) and the CHIO Rotterdam (equestrian sports). 

In addition to annual events, Rotterdam provides the stage for many European and world championships for sports including football, judo, baseball, BMX, gymnastics, squash, and volleyball. However, the most popular sport in the Netherlands is football (soccer). Rotterdam has three professional football clubs: Feyenoord, Sparta Rotterdam and Excelsior.

Would you like to play sports in Rotterdam? There are plenty of clubs to choose from for you, or your partner and children. You can also find many places to exercise or play an individual sport.

The Rotterdam Sport website offers a comprehensive overview all the sport options available in Rotterdam, but only in Dutch. Rotterdam Topsport is a top-level sports association that guides and supports sporting events, world-class athletes and sports clubs in Rotterdam. Another way to find a suitable sport club is by asking your local colleagues, your children’s teachers, or your neighbours.
